Fiancee of crash victim makes wedding photos: We would have to do

A Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed on October 29 minutes after taking off from Jakarta, killing all 189 people aboard.

Safety experts involved in the investigation said U.S. aviation officials and airline pilots hadn't been told the new system had been added to the 737 MAX aircraft.

Investigators said on Monday more training was needed for Boeing 737 MAX pilots after discovering the situation believed to have faced the crew of a doomed Lion Air jet was not contained in the aircraft's flight manual.

.

"It is information that we were not privy to in training or in any other manuals or materials", he said.

Investigators are examining whether a sensor on the outside of the plane transmitted incorrect data that could have triggered the stall-prevention system.

The plane was carrying 189 people from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang; there were no survivors of the crash and the fuselage of the Boeing 737 has not been found yet.

A woman whose fiance was killed in the Lion Air plane crash has shared photos of herself in her wedding dress on the day the couple were meant to be married.

This device can then force the plane downwards to avoid a stall, but to such a degree that pilots can't pull the aircraft back level.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing Co are evaluating the need for software or design changes to 737 MAX jets in the wake of last month's deadly Lion Air crash in Indonesia, the regulator said on Tuesday.

"They (Boeing) didn't provide us all the info we rely on when we fly an aircraft", said Captain Dennis Tajer, a spokesman for the group.

According to a technical log the Lion Air Boeing 737, which had only been in service a few months, suffered instrument problems the day before because of an "unreliable" airspeed reading. "The bottom line here is the 737 MAX is safe and safety is a core value for us". Pilots speaking with the outlet claim they weren't properly trained on the safety feature, which automatically adjusts an aircraft's nose downward in the event of disturbance.

The system was created to prevent the jet from stalling, according to information provided by Boeing to airlines.

President of the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association, Jon Weaks, spoke for all their pilots when he said, "We don't like that we weren't notified".

But it was about a week after Lion Air's 737 MAX 8 crashed that Boeing warned airlines of a potential fault in the new feature, which, under "unusual conditions, can push (the plane's nose) down unexpectedly and so strongly" it could result in a "steep dive or crash", according to the Journal.

The couple decided on the photo shoot and the wedding dress just weeks before the ill fated Lion Air crashed in the sea of Jakarta.

Known as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, it was added "to compensate for some unique aircraft handling characteristics", according to a bulletin sent by Southwest's flight operations division to its pilots on November 10.

Passengers on that flight told CNN that the plane experienced a significant drop in altitude shortly after takeoff.

Pratama, who had attended a seminar in Jakarta, was on his way home to Pangkal Pinang for the wedding.
