Head coach Luke Walton said the injury happened while Rondo was making a steal in the fourth quarter.

Rondo broke his hand during Wednesday's game versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

And the duo have helped Luke Walton's young roster bounce back from a hard start to the season to secure a winning 8-6 record after 14 games. His play has been huge in the frontcourt especially late in games with his stable play on the glass and in the paint in key moments. "Obviously we can't replace what Rondo does for our team and how important he is to our team, but we're not gonna make excuses".

"We're going to miss him while he's out, but the next person has to step up and have that mentality and be that dog in the second unit".

Rondo, 32, is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 11 games this season.

"He's a true leader", said Ball, who has started the past 12 games and is looking at an uptick in minutes with Rondo out.

When the White House suspended Acosta's credential, they noted that CNN could still send another correspondent. Smith spoke to As It Happens host Carol Off more about what happened at the White House press conference.

The Lakers (8-6) have won four straight, taking an advantage of a stretch in which they've played four of their past five at home. Portland's four-game winning streak ended, but the Blazers are still on top of the Northwest Division. "As a group we'll do our best to continue to play the way that we've started to play".

Rondo has served as the primary backup at point guard after starting at the beginning of the season before serving a three-game suspension for an altercation with Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul. He survived a stunningly physical assault from the Trail Blazers to tally 44 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. He gets everybody in their spots.

LeBron James is moving on up. Brandon Ingram, who thrived while playing point guard when Ball was injured last season, could also see minutes running the point.

"It's still a process for us", James said.

James sat out of practice to rest Thursday.

Before the Lakers embarked on a three-game trip including his return to Cleveland on November 21, James showed his new home fans what they can expect in big games, as if they didn't already know.
