Microsoft has re-released that initial - and now fixed - update for all Windows 10 users. That's right, we're roughly halfway through November and Microsoft has just now gotten to the point where it is semi-comfortable with distributing the update.

"We take any case of data loss seriously, and as I noted on October 9, we have thoroughly investigated and resolved all related issues".

Microsoft hasn't pushed out a new build for Fast ring Insiders this week, but it is shipping out a small cumulative update with some fixes in tow. "Expect us to refine this experience", Microsoft added. Now, more than a month after being pulled, the update is generally available to consumers.

For those folks struggling to recall it, Microsoft had announced back in September that it had extended the support schedule for Windows 10 feature updates to 30 months (instead of 18 months), but the extension only applied to Enterprise and Education edition users. Some users found that their files were being deleted. Even though the impact of the bug was a fraction of one percent, when you are talking at a scale of 700 million users, the ramifications would be widespread if the update was delivered to everyone.

PlayStation 4 Black Friday deals launched
All deals will run at participating retailers while stocks last from November 16th in the USA and the 22nd in Canada. Like most of the major retailers, Sony will discount the Marvel's Spider-Man Standard Edition PS4 Bundle.

On Tuesday, John Cable, director of program management, Windows servicing and deliver, gave the update the all-clear.

Windows 10 already has a dark theme, but now it's getting a real light theme. But be warned; the company's Windows preview releases can be buggy.

To say that 2018 has been a rough year for Windows is likely an understatement; with two delayed releases of Windows 10 and activation issues, the year can't come to an end soon enough.

Anyway, if you're able to install the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, you'll find yourself with all kinds of tweaks to the operating system, chief among them, a new way to integrate your PC with an Android phone. For you, it means even if you check the updates manually, it won't show up until Microsoft is entirely sure that the system will not encounter any problems in the future.
