Sweezy declined to be interviewed after the game, but Carroll protested that maybe it was the Chargers' first move that should have been flagged.

After Sturgis's miss, quarterback Philip Rivers was upset on the sidelines, shaking his head.

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Caleb Sturgis (6) gets a pat from teammate Michael Schofield after missing a field goal against the Seattle Seahawks during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in Seattle.

Here's a look at the Sunday snap counts for both the Seahawks and the Chargers. "That's not the way we've been playing", Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. That's the best way I can think to describe it. "We had a chance but it didn't work", Wilson said. "We were right there".

I thought the big game-changing play came on 3rd and 15. But at the end of the day, we didn't come to show that today. While he completed 66.7% of his throws, he only averaged 9.0 yards per completion.

Indeed, if the Seahawks wondered about the call on Sweezy, the Chargers grumbled about the penalty on the play before, when Davis jostled with Lockett to force what initially appeared to be a game-ending incomplete pass.

"Great defenses don't give up explosive plays - or at least not that many", Clark said. Seattle allowed a 34-yard touchdown run by Gordon, a 28-yard run by Keenan Allen, a 54-yard pass to Allen and a 30-yard TD toss to Mike Williams. "There's always going to be some growing time and we saw that the first two weeks of the season".

The Chargers have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. But then they were part of the issue on Los Angeles running the ball so well.

Clark was often double- or triple-teamed, and said the Chargers did a good job slowing him and the rest of Seattle's defense down early, but persistence and execution helped the defense make the plays late.
