Niece of ‘Sister Sister’ star Tamera Mowry killed in California shooting

After a woman posted a tweet saying that her suitemate was still missing after the shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill, Mowry-Housley replied, "Ashley this is her aunt ..."

After spending Thursday in search of her niece, Alaina Housley, the actress confirmed in a joint statement with husband Adam Housley that the college freshman had been killed.

They called Alaina Housley "an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her".

The suitemate tweeted earlier that Alaina was one of "a handful of girls" who went line-dancing at the country-western bar.

Adam Housley, who until six weeks ago was national correspondent for Fox News, arrived at the hospital around 3:30 a.m. searching for his niece.

According to USA Today, Mowry and her husband have released a statement about the shocking news. The gunman, who was identified as 28-year-old David Ian Long, died on the scene.

Housley's Apple Watch and iPhone showed her location at the bar until today but her family was hopeful she had left them there before fleeing.

"My gut is saying she's inside the bar, dead", her anxious uncle, Adam Housley, told an LA Times reporter outside the Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he was looking for his niece. She knew that her niece was at the bar but hadn't heard from her in hours. "Please do me a favor and introduce yourself in person and see what the result will be", Housley responded. "We love you", she wrote, accompanied by a throwback photo of her, Tamera and Alaina at a wedding.

According to the Napa Valley Register, Alaina graduated from Vintage High past year, before becoming a student at Pepperdine University, where her suitemate had tweeted a photo of her earlier in the day, saying she hadn't come home from the bar.

Ventura County Sheriff's Sergeant Ron Heuls was one of the first responders and was met by gunfire.

"Ok. Thank you. Is she the only one unaccounted for?". "We love u!" she wrote.
