History, Trump and partisan bitterness collide in Georgia governor's race

"After learning of a failed attempt to hack the state's online voter registration and My Voter Page, my office contacted the Department of Homeland Security and opened an investigation", Kemp said in a brief posting on his campaign's Facebook page. "In an act of desperation, the Democrats tried to expose vulnerabilities in Georgia's voter registration system".

It's just the latest in a series of partisan moves by Kemp, who has held up more than 50,000 voter registrations for inconsistencies as small as a missing hyphen, fought rules to give voters a chance to prove their identities when their absentee ballot applications are rejected for a lack of a signature match, and been aggressive in prosecuting those who have done nothing more than try to help those in need of assistance in casting ballots.

A group of men appearing to belong to the Black Panther Party marched in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend showing their support for far-left Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams while they were armed with rifles. Kemp has resisted calls to resign that post.

"If it involves your own election", she continued, "I just can not imagine the candidate remaining involved in the investigation of something that might relate so directly to their own race".

Both Abrams and Kemp condemned the robocall. "I see that same potential in Stacey Abrams". Abrams cruised to the Democratic nomination after encountering initial resistance from old-guard Georgia Democrats who backed her white opponent, in part out of concerns that a black woman could not win in November. The group of twenty voters-ten Abrams supporters and ten Kemp supporters-said that an ad featuring Abrams hosting a large family dinner at her house conveyed a sense of humanity and tradition.

"While we cannot comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation, I can confirm that the Democratic Party of Georgia is under investigation for possible cyber crimes", said Candice Broce, the office's press secretary.

We also know that those individuals came to carry out their orders: "Kill Khashoggi and leave", he wrote. That's why it's so important to take murders like this seriously.

He calls it an investigation.

But Abrams would have none of that, declaring Kemp a "bald-faced liar" intent on deflecting attention from security problems with his system. "You put Stacey in there, and you're gonna have Georgia turn into Venezuela".

Georgia voters are turning out to decide several key Election Day contests beyond the heated race for governor.

Stamos said he believed Federal Bureau of Investigation and Justice Department specialists would be better positioned to investigate any hack.

The Democratic Party of Georgia is pushing back against the allegations.

Meanwhile, Republican incumbents on the utility-regulating Public Service Commission are running amid an outcry over spiraling costs for the Plant Vogtle nuclear plant expansion.
