Trump Rages After Kavanaugh Accuser Recants

It contained highly detailed and graphic sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh, but the letter listed no return address, failed to provide any timeframe, and failed to provide a location apart from allegedly happening in a auto, investigators noted. Given her relatively unique name, Committee investigators were able to use open-source research to locate Ms. Munro-Leighton and determine that she: (1) is a left-wing activist; (2) is decades older than Judge Kavanaugh; and (3) lives in neither the Washington DC area nor California, but in Kentucky. During his acrimonious confirmation process, multiple women came forward with accusations of sexual assault against him. Kamala Harris (D-CA) from "Jane Doe" of Oceanside, California, who claimed that Kavanaugh had raped her "several times". It is illegal to make materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to Congressional investigators.

The revelation from Ford led to a sensational day of public testimony from her and then Kavanaugh before the Senate judiciary committee, which left Capitol Hill and much of the nation both riveted and disturbed. "It is illegal to obstruct Committee investigations".

In a tweet Saturday, apparently referring to Judy Munro-Leighton, the president said a vicious accuser of Justice Kavanaugh has just admitted she was lying, and added her story was totally made up or fake.

"Regardless, Committee staff quickly began investigating the claims as part of the broader investigation, hindered by the limited information provided". Even as he and Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, separate allegations of sexual misconduct made by Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick loomed large in the background.

In short, during the Committee's time-sensitive investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, Ms. Munro-Leighton submitted a fabricated allegation, which diverted Committee resources.

Chinese chip maker Fujian Jinhua added to USA export ban
Jinhua sued the USA company the following month in a Chinese court and obtained an order blocking sales of some Micron products. The move is likely futile as "such license applications will be reviewed with a presumption of denial", Commerce says.

He vehemently denied all of the claims. "The whole thing is just a crock, farce, wrong, didn't happen, not anything close", according to the letter.

When committee staff eventually spoke with Munro-Leighton, she recanted, saying she only sent the email "as a way to grab attention" because she felt angry. I am not Jane Doe. but I did read Jane Doe's letter. I saw it online.

Munro-Leighton contacted the committee via e-mail, claiming that she was "Jane Doe" and that Kavanaugh had raped her. She says she did this to get attention and now I suspect she's going to get all she wanted and more.

Mr. Grassley has previously asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation to probe Julie Swetnick and her lawyer, anti-Trump crusader Michael Avenatti, for lying to Congress and obstructing.
