The new Overwatch hero is Ashe: here are her abilities

The second character revealed was not given a gameplay trailer, nor did she show off any combat abilities in the cinematic.

Blizzard has unveiled the new hero for its popular hero shooter.

The arrival of Ashe, Overwatch's newest hero and former buddy of McCree, was announced at BlizzCon today.

Unlike most other characters in Overwatch, it seems like Ashe's primary weapon - a semi-automatic rifle named "The Viper" - can be aimed via iron sights or hip fire. In it he meets up with his old compadres, the Deadlock Gang, led by Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe. The dynamite can be thrown and will detonate after a short period or shot to detonate immediately.

While Echo might not be ready to be officially revealed in-game, she has been confirmed to be Overwatch's thirtieth hero. She also has a "Coach Gun", which lets her essentially rocket jump or merely propel enemies backward a few feet.

This morning at BlizzCon, Blizzard debuted "Reunion", the latest Overwatch animated short.

"Ashe summons her trusted omnic sidekick, B.O.B., who charges forward and knocks enemies into the air, then lays down suppressing fire with his arm cannons". Her earlier looks were much more sinister overall and I hope we get to see some of them make the cut as alternate skins.

No word yet on Ashe's release date or when she'll be playable on the Public Test Realm server, but we'll keep you posted.
