Manchester United's Jose Mourinho - Pressure on Marcus Rashford 'too high'

Manchester United's Jose Mourinho - Pressure on Marcus Rashford 'too high'

Mourinho has conceded that the Red Devils were fortunate to be level at the interval due to their "disaster" first-half performance, but has paid tribute to his team's display in the second 45 minutes.

Slipshod Fulham were made light work of last weekend, thanks to a Callum Wilson double and one from David Brooks in a 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage.

Eddie Howe's high-flying side host United on Saturday, sitting sixth in the Premier League and three points ahead of their visitors.

Slow and ponderous in possession during the opening exchanges, but like most of his teammates markedly improved as United wrestled back control of the game in the second period.

"There was always the feeling that there was another goal in the game and unfortunately it wasn't for us". "When you are top four, and I believe we are going to be, you can look up and see the distance, look at the fixtures and the calendar and the situation". His introduction was not an obvious one given that United were going in search of a winning goal but it did help.

There will be a lot at stake. "There will also be a psychological component". But in the future, it does not mean we will keep doing that".

"We are not showing we have stability". It served as a positive change in that it allowed United to start sustaining attacks. "He said sorry immediately, and it was really very important I think that he realised he was wrong", Sarri said last week. "He is a player of balance". And I don't speak about the defenders, but the whole team. Herrera had a good game at Dean Court last season.

It appears that this search for balance is an ongoing challenge for Mourinho with this team. "We were really lucky because we were poor, defensively bad", Mourinho said.

"We knew it would be a different game in the second half and full credit to them for sticking in the game". We had it under control even when it was 2-1.

In the early kickoff of the 11th matchday of the 2018-19 Premier League season, Manchester United came back from behind to win a thriller against Bournemouth. Always an important player for United simply due to the pace he plays the game at and the quality of his passing and hold-up play, but offered far less than he could have done until the final 20 minutes as his run and cross set up Rashford for the victor.
