Browns fire coach Hue Jackson, name Gregg Williams interim

Hue Jackson is out as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, following yesterday's 33-18 loss to the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns are 2-5-1 this season.

The last six coaches for the Browns have all been fired following a loss to the Steelers. Jackson won a total of three games in two-and-a-half seasons. Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, Pat Shurmur, Rob Chudzinski and Mike Pettine all met the same demise. Haley was the team's offensive coordinator under head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Williams went 17-31 in three seasons as Buffalo's coach from 2001-03, but the animated assistant is perhaps best known for being suspended by the National Football League for the 2012 season for his role in the "Bountygate" scandal that rocked the New Orleans Saints.

First Hue Jackson, now Todd Haley.

According to, Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor is the favorite to be hired by the Browns to replace Jackson.

"There's nothing wrong with my relationship with Haley", Jackson said. We're pretty sure Wylie Coyote thinks Halloween is for yoga lovers and devil worshippers (not mutually exclusive), but something tells us even he would have a good chortle over this one.
