Rockstar unveils Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app

Rockstar Games has revealed Red Dead Redemption 2's official companion app, which is set and ready to launch with the game this Friday. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the kind of slow west yarn that lets you drink in its world, with plenty of time spent riding across its plains, but those looking for all-action, all-the-time should go in with their eyes open.

Rockstar Games announced an Android companion app to the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. And then, there's a secret area over to the left that you won't be able to access until the very end of the game, and happens to be super spoilerific.

The app will launch October 26 alongside the game.

Apple, Samsung both fined for slowing down phones through updates
Apple and Samsung have each been hit with multimillion-euro fines over the "planned obsolescence" of some of their phones. Unfortunately for Apple, French law allows for fines as high as 5% of annual turnover or even jail time.

The app also provides real-time information on main character Arthur Morgan's health, stamina, and other stats. The game is as good as you have always hoped it would be.

Gaming on mobile has been improving at a far greater rate than any technology that came before it. Some of the coolest implementations in Red Dead Redemption 2 are about making human and animal collisions more impactful - making sure running your horse into vehicles, trees or buildings feels suitably intense. Rockstar brought us the entire Grand Theft Auto series, and building a game more in-depth than those legendary titles must have been no easy feat.

And for those who enjoy a bit of light reading, it homes the full digital game manual and an optional digital version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide.
