Dem Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz FL Office Evacuated Over Suspicious Package

The suspicious package to the office of the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman comes as other packages have been found at the homes of Hillary Clinton, George Soros and the offices of CNN headquarters in NY.

The NBC Miami station and CNN reported that police were investigating a suspicious package that was found on the premises.

The packages were found during routine mail screening procedures and identified as potential explosive devices, according to their statement. Five hours after the news broke about the threats to the former president and Secretary of State, CNN's headquarters in NY were evacuated due to reports of a suspicious package containing a pipe bomb.

Wasserman Schultz resigned following a five-year stint as Democratic Party chair following a leak of emails in 2016 suggesting an insider attempt to hobble the campaign of Clinton's rival in the White House primaries, Bernie Sanders.

NY officials described the devices sent to CNN as "pipe bomb" devices.

Earlier this week a pipe bomb was also sent to the home of Democratic donor billionaire George Soros.

PREVIOUS (10/24, 7:40 a.m.): The United States Secret Service has confirmed agents intercepted a pair of suspicious packages sent to the homes of former President Barack Obama and the Clintons. It's unclear if the Clintons were home or in the area at the time of the discovery.

The Secret Service says neither Obama or Hillary Clinton were at risk of receiving the packages.

Growing migrant caravan renews march to US
Donald Trump has threatened to cancel the trade deal with Mexico and withhold aid to Central America if migrants aren't stopped. And according to global law, the U.S. can not deport asylum seekers without first determining the validity of their claim.

Police in New Castle, New York - the force which covers Chappaqua - said they had assisted the FBI, Secret Service and Westchester County authorities in "the investigation of a suspicious package". The package contained a live explosive and an envelope with white powder, and the substance was being tested to see if it was unsafe, authorities said.

Trump often ridicules Waters, a senior African-American Democrat, as "low IQ" and has regularly assailed Wasserman Schultz, one of the most senior Democrats in the House of Representatives.

The developments, which unfolded rapidly and continued steadily into the afternoon, touched off fear and confusion and immediately invited questions about the motives of those responsible.

Responding to a tweet from Vice President Mike Pence, who said the administration condemned the "despicable" actions, Trump said, "I agree wholeheartedly!" The latest building joining today's evacuations contains the San Diego Union-Tribune and Democratic Senator Kamala Harris' office, which is still under investigation. It matches the description of those sent to the other officials.

At the news conference, Cuomo disclosed that a device was sent to his Manhattan office and that it was being handled.

Officials described the devices as attempted acts of terrorism and cautioned that the number of bombs - and intended victims - could grow. A Soros employee opened it just inside the gates, not near Soros' quarters, the official said.

"This investigation is of the highest priority for the FBI", Wray said in a statement.
