Mueller Could Release Probe Results After Midterms, Before Thanksgiving, According To Somebody

Rosenstein supervises Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into connections between Trump's 2016 presidential election and Russian efforts to interfere with the results, and Democrats have characterized the GOP attacks on him as part of a concerted effort to undermine the probe.

USA prosecutors on Friday agreed to drop criminal charges against Paul Manafort that a jury deadlocked on earlier this year, as a federal judge set a February 8 date for Manafort's sentencing on charges of bank fraud and filing false tax returns.

The jury found that Manafort hid from the IRS millions of dollars he earned advising Ukrainian politicians.

After months of refusing to assist Mueller's probe, Manafort finally took a plea deal in September and agreed to co-operate in return for reduced charges.

Ellis, though, expressed concern about waiting too long to schedule a sentencing hearing.

With another trial on separate charges against Manafort looming in Washington, D.C., the judge granted a request from special counsel Robert Mueller's team for more time to decide whether to retry or dismiss the remaining charges in Virginia. The more typical procedure in the district is to proceed with sentencing.

Warren still has to answer for her ethnic identity theft
For the white-grievance set, it's a powerful piece of rhetoric, created to mock Warren and her fellows who think they know better. "I think everyone, of course, has the right to investigate these types of questions about themselves".

However the charges were dropped the charges without prejudice, meaning the prosecution could reintroduce them at a later date, giving them further leverage over Manafort. Ellis' dismissal of the counts does not preclude prosecutors from refiling them at a later date if they choose.

Manafort wore a green jail jumpsuit and sat in a wheelchair.

But in court, defense lawyer Kevin Downing said Manafort hoped his personal health situation would improve once Manafort came under custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons.

Also Friday, special counsel prosecutors and Manafort's attorneys released several years of Manafort's tax returns.

As Bloomberg underscores, the timing of the expected release of the findings is "critical", as the battle for the House and Senate intensifies going into the midterms and with Trump signaling that he's considering replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions after the election, which could have major implications for Mueller.

Prosecutors say Manafort falsified the documents, leaving off millions in income.
