Rick Gates Solicited Proposal For Online Disinformation Campaign to Help Trump

The bogus online personas would be created to sway 5,000 delegates at the 2016 Republican National Convention by attacking Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

While, it is unknown if the Trump campaign actually acted on these proposal, sources told the New York Times that ultimately Rick Gates became disinterested in what Psy-Group had to offer. Its owner, Joel Zamel, met with Donald Trump August of 2016.

Several different proposals authored by the Israeli company, Psy-Group, have been discovered. Psy-Group worked up at least three proposals under the code name "Project Rome" to help Trump ("Lion") defeat Cruz ("Bear") and Hillary Clinton ("Forest").

Psy-Group claimed that it would provide "all services in accordance with the laws and regulations of the country/ies in which they are conducted". "Though the Israeli company's pitches were narrower than Moscow's interference campaign and appear unconnected, the documents show that a senior Trump aide saw the promise of a disruption effort to swing voters in Mr. Trump's favor", the New York Times says. The Mueller investigation has questioned members of Psy-Group in relation to this particular meeting.

Zamel has been questioned by investigators for the special counsel, according to the reports, and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have traveled to Israel to interview employees about the proposal and have asked Israeli police to seize computers from Psy-Group's Petah Tikva offices.

The FBI presented a court order to Israeli police and the Israeli Ministry of Justice to confiscate Psy-Group's computers after interviewing employees at the company.

He bounced back from that defeat in style, mauling Edson Barboza for 22 minutes before the doctor's called the fight due to a cut. The 23-year-old Ladd improved to 7-0 with a demolition of Evinger (19-7), an Invicta champion and former UFC title contender.

The August 3 Trump Tower meeting is a focus of the ongoing investigation by Robert Mueller, the special counsel, who was tasked past year with examining possible cooperation and coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation in the lead-up to the election.

The news sparked an interesting exchange between journalist, lawyer and author Glenn Greenwald and Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu.

He called out the Democrat for drawing comparisons with them, seemingly baiting him into calling for sanctions against long-time United States ally Israel for "attempted collusion with foreigners".

The Trump campaign was already employing "embeds" from social media companies such as Facebook in order to inform its social media strategy.
