Jimmy Butler verbally challenged team at practice

According to ESPN, the Wolves were close to a Butler trade with the Heat this weekend, but it fell apart. While the Miami Heat are first on his list of landing spots, the Houston, Texas native has been part of numerous trade conversations, but no agreement has been reached. "I'm just focusing right now on whoever is here because you have to understand we have a strong group of guys that come in here, put a lot of time and work in".

Forward Anthony Tolliver and guard Jeff Teague took a few Butler-related questions after practice, but neither would even fully confirm that Butler practiced.

Just days after reportedly reiterating a request for a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler was on the practice floor with his teammates on Wednesday.

Butler participated in multiple intrasquad scrimmages, where he joined the bench units against the starters and went out of his way to challenge the team's two young stars, Towns and Wiggins, league sources said.

If there are a bunch of people chatting, the camera will zoom out in an attempt to get everyone into the shot at the same time. However, putting history aside, Facebook chose to launch their first Facebook-branded piece of hardware today, the Portal .

The Timberwolves were warned beforehand by Butler that the situation could get uglier if he wasn't traded before the season, league sources said. Butler was vociferous and emotional at times, targeting Thibodeau/Layden/Towns/Wiggins. He reportedly met with Butler and attempted to convince him to stay with the Timberwolves, but Butler wouldn't budge and reiterated his desire to be dealt by the season opener. Coaches and players were largely speechless at Butler's tour de force throughout the workout, league sources said.

"You can't win without me", Butler reportedly yelled at general manager Scott Layden at one point. He dominated the gym in every way. "That's really all I gotta say about that".

This could turn out to be one of the crazier stories in National Basketball Association history, and of course it's with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
