Amy Schumer, Emily Ratajkowski arrested while protesting Kavanaugh

Schumer can be seen in a video in which a Capitol Police officer tells protesters they will be arrested unless they leave the building.

Comedian and actress Amy Schumer was reportedly detained by Washington D.C. police at a rally protesting the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

'Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power'.

Capitol police said 293 protestors were arrested in the protest at the Hart Senate Office Building atrium, and nine were arrested in a demonstration at the fourth floor of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

As the officer attempts to escort Schumer and another woman forward, the officer can be heard asking "You want to be arrested?"

Ratajkowski also posted about her arrest on Instagram. She told the crowd: "We're going to keep showing up and no matter how this goes they can not keep us down".

Actress-model Emily Ratajkowski revealed on Twitter on Thursday that she'd been detained while protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh in Washington, D.C. Her message- anyone who votes for Kavanaugh is saying women don't matter.

"We need to stand up", she captioned a photo of baby raising its fist. Show up for your sister and daughters and mothers.

Ratajkowski concluded: 'I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men'.

The top judge has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, but FBI investigators have found no evidence to suggest he's guilty. Show up! We will keep fighting. Ratajkowski agreed to be in the music video; victims of sexual assault did not agree to be sexually assaulted - no matter what they were wearing or how many alcoholic beverages they may have had.
