Damon Wayans Is Leaving Fox's 'Lethal Weapon'

In an interview with Electronic Urban Report, the 58-year-old actor says he's quitting his Fox series, Lethal Weapon.

Damon Wayans, who plays Roger Murtaugh on the show, will be departing the project in December. "I don't know what they're planning, but that's what I'm planning".

"It's hard for me to play this loving, supportive father, husband, and friend on TV and be the guy in life who's telling everybody, 'I can't, I've got to work, '" shares Wayans, citing all the important life events he's been missing out on.

Wayans has starred in the TV series based on the classic film since it began in 2016 in the role originally played by Donald Glover.

He'll be opposed by Kyle Freeland of the Rockies , who is 17-7 with a 2.85 ERA, but he will be making his first playoff start. Walker Buehler was set to start for the Dodgers Monday, while German Marquez was slated to get the ball for the Rockies.

In an interview with the website, Wayans said that he plans to exit the Warner Bros. Lethal Weapon season 4 seems less likely than ever, that much is certain.

Despite that, the series' future was still in doubt, but when Fox did choose to renew it for Season 3 it did so with Seann William Scott replacing Crawford. "Replacing Clayne Crawford, Seann William Scott ("American Pie" franchise") joins the cast as Detective Wesley Cole, a former worldwide Central Intelligence Agency operative who finds himself navigating a new partnership with Damon Wayans' Murtaugh, as he adjusts to life in Los Angeles.

An off-camera interviewer responded to Wayans' news by saying, "So you're over it?"

Damon Wayans, 58 confirmed that his announcement is no joke and he has plans to return to his roots as a standup comedian. "I'm from a big family, a loving family and I haven't seen them". I'm too exhausted or I can't because it conflicts with work... What we know for sure is that Lethal Weapon season 3, which premiered on September 25, airs Tuesdays on Fox. "I have seven grandkids. There's a better way to live life".
