Mourinho: No player is bigger than Manchester United

Jose Mourinho says the training ground spat with Paul Pogba is nothing compared to some of the things that go on at the club's Carrington training ground.

While attempting to play down talk of a rift between himself and the France worldwide, Mourinho did reveal that Pogba is well aware of why he was stripped of the vice-captaincy, although he wouldn't disclose those details to the public.

The Portuguese's future is being questioned as he looks to find a way out of the current malaise, which sees United having been dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Derby and takes them to east London with an eight-point gap to the top of the table to set about closing.

"He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige", Mourinho said of Sanchez when he was signed.

"I'm happy with his [Pogba's] work this week, really happy". The team needs good players. "So I'm really happy that the rules are 15 minutes [once a month]".

Mourinho bridled when asked whether he might have had the conversation with Pogba away from the cameras that were filming the session on Wednesday because it proved disruptive. We should have 15 minutes of training session open because what happened the other day happens many days.

Timberwolves' Asking Price for Jimmy Butler Is Too High
Almost one week after reportedly issuing his trade request, Jimmy Butler still remains a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves . The team reportedly recently expressed interest in point guard Tyus Jones , who comes off the bench in Minnesota.

Ultimately, results are nearly always the deciding factor in any manager's career, but Mourinho appears to need them right now to provide justification of his methods.

So with all this in mind, it is hard not to think of Mourinho when Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa faced the media ahead of The Whites' Friday night trip to Sheffield Wednesday. "Maybe it is your fault", he said.

Jose Mourinho isn't exactly a stranger to player bust-ups but this time he wants the backing of the Manchester United board in his feud with Paul Pogba. Loud criticism, loud instruction, happens every day.

He declined to reveal what was said between him and Pogba but characterised their relationship as a normal manager-player one.

Whatever has happened, the parties there clearly dislike each other, whether that's due to the agent involved (Mino Raiola) we don't know but it's not a good relationship and it won't be fixed as they don't seem to be interested in fixing it. I always analyse a player as a player and when a player is captain I analyse the player by the player and the captain perspective.
