Woman who claims Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her reveals identity

Woman who claims Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her reveals identity

But President Donald Trump telegraphed earlier today that that schedule might slow.

Sunday's development threatens what would be a major win for Trump's White House and McConnell, as they seek to give a strong rightward tilt to the federal judiciary.

The judge was seen arriving at the White House on Monday morning but there was no immediate explanation of the reason for his visit.

An official working closely with his team described Kavanaugh as "shaken, but focused", with the conversation revolving around "defending his integrity".

Her attorney, Debra Katz, told Inside Edition that her client's claims may have bearing on his confirmation to the Supreme Court. Before the hearings were announced, both indicated they were willing to testify about the allegations.

But he proposed the committee have phone calls with her and Kavanaugh, and made no mention of a hearing. He is an outstanding intellect and outstanding judge respected by everybody.

Trump stayed publicly silent on Kavanaugh over the weekend but told reporters Monday afternoon that "a little delay" may be needed on the upcoming Senate Judiciary Committee vote. Democrats like Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) explicitly took this as support for his call to delay the vote. But Maura Kane said that she'd met Ford a few times and knew her slightly. After initially guarding her anonymity, Ford "decided to take control of this and tell this in her own voice" after the allegations were leaked, her lawyer said. He says, "I'm not really sure where this goes from here".

"I feel so badly for him that he's going through this, to be honest with you, I feel so badly for him", said Trump, who has himself faced numerous accusations of sexual harassment that he's denied. Karin Housley, who is running for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Tina Smith, said the process in place to vet the allegations is through the Senate Judiciary Committee. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, over her handling of the allegation against Kavanaugh, which she only disclosed last week despite first getting word of the allegation in July. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Monday. Kavanaugh and the woman accusing him of a decades-old sexual assault both indicated Monday that they would be willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. "It shouldn't certainly be very much", Trump said.

Not until 30 years later in 2012 did Ford, now a clinical psychologist in California, relate, in a couples therapy session with her husband, what happened. The remaining 21 percent of voters were undecided about Kavanaugh, a circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals.

The panel would also likely seek testimony from Judge, Kavanaugh's friend and classmate who Ford says jumped on top of her. McConnell has said he would like to have Kavanaugh confirmed by October 1, the start of the Supreme Court's new term.

Dr Ford, 51, a clinical psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California, said: "I thought he might inadvertently kill me. That can not happen in this case", Schumer said in a written statement.

The fact that Feinstein sat on Ford's letter about the alleged assault hasn't helped.

"I think that would be best for all involved, including the nominee", Corker reportedly said. "Because once you go public you are subjected to a great deal".

The President also once again lamented Sen. "Feinstein did everything to protect the privacy of our mutual constituent".

Through her attorney, Ford has agreed to do just that, according to reports.

But the far more significant issues with Ford's claim involve the things her story now lacks.

The accused told the Washington Post that Mr Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed at a Maryland party in the early 1980s, clumsily tried to remove her clothing and put his hand over her mouth when she tried to scream.

"She believes that but for his inebriation and his inability to take her clothes off, he would have raped her", Katz said.
