Nintendo Direct Rescheduled, Switch Online Launches September 18

So far, the only games that will have online access revoked for non-Switch Online subscribers include: Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, and Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. Previously, playing online was free, but once Switch Online debuts, everyone will need to pay to play online. For example, we now know that Nintendo Switch Online is coming September 18. Notice how the words "Nintendo Switch Online" are nowhere to be found. Nintendo is sweetening the pot by throwing in a library of NES games that you can play with your membership, and some of these games have been updated to be playable online with friends. Nintendo Switch Online players will also get to enjoy 20 classic Nintendo games, with more to come. The full scope of memberships will be available on the Nintendo website and the eShop, with the 3-month and 12-month options also available at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.

Nintendo's delayed Direct video presentation is now scheduled to run on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET, the company announced Wednesday.
