Twitter Finally Bans Alex Jones And Infowars

Major technology companies have removed podcasts and channels from Jones, who founded the website Infowars, saying he broke community standards. The social media platform said it would continually monitor accounts that may be associated with Jones for rule violations.

Rubio tried to answer another question, but Jones started shouting again.

The Infowars host had originally approached Rubio to ask about social media companies and Jones' belief that they hold bias toward conservative users.

As the senator received questions from other reporters, Jones continued to talk over him. But later in the day, as House Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee pressed Dorsey on what they called Twitter's censorship of conservative political figures and viewpoints, Jones' arguments appeared to have more resonance.

The incident became heated after Jones touched Rubio on the shoulder.

I do think Alex Jones is a clown but, unfortunately, he has a point. "I don't know who you are". Twitter is permanently banning right-wing conspiracy theorist Jones and his?Infowars? show for abusive behavior.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg are testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, speaking about issues of election interference and misinformation on their platforms.

"You're not going to get arrested". I still find the man's actions and dedication to making sure that Twitter is a "public square" where anyone can speak to be a bit shortsighted, as too often those defending themselves from harassment get banned while their harassers go free. Rubio responded, "I swear to God I don't know who you are, man".

Jones then patted Rubio on the back, prompting a sharp response.

"That's weird, man", Rubio replied with a smile on his face.

Last month, Twitter gave Jones a small punishment for his inflammatory behavior on the platform-a one-week suspension that prevented Jones from tweeting or retweeting from his personal account. Jones was temporarily suspended from Facebook, and several of his pages were banned for what Facebook said was hate speech and bullying.
