Mourinho excited by prospect of reunion with Lampard in Carabao Cup

Mourinho, now the Manchester United boss, and Frank Lampard, with whom the Portuguese enjoyed so much success at Chelsea, were drawn to face each other in round three.

Liverpool fan Di B thinks it will be an "interesting" match as both teams are likely to field "weakened" teams, as Chelsea fan Rasen agreed by stating both managers will prioritise the Premier League.

Shortly after the last balls were pulled from their perspex bowls in Monaco's Grimaldi Forum, Liverpool were involved in another draw - for the third round of the Carabao Cup.

As always, the seven Premier League Clubs competing in UEFA competitions will enter the competition at the third-round stage, including current holders Manchester City. While Reds fan Mick can't wait to knock Chelsea out of the "only trophy they have a chance of winning", Chelsea fan AM29 predicted an easy win for the Blues with Ross Barkley scoring the victor.

David Ferrer says so long; Andy Murray is here to stay
David Ferrer retired (from the game against Rafael Nadal ) for the first time in a Grand Slam on his last ever Grand Slam match. U.S. hopes were buoyed by wins for 11th seed John Isner and 18th-ranked Jack Sock who won his first singles match since May.

Spurs said in a statement: "We have applied to the EFL board for special dispensation to play this tie at Stadium MK".

Arsenal, runners-up to Pep Guardiola's City at Wembley in February, will host Championship Brentford in a London derby.

The eight-time winners of the competition will host Chelsea at Anfield on the week commencing September 24, a game which looks set to kick off a hectic spell for the Reds.
