Sergio Ramos fires back at final failure Jurgen Klopp

Still salty over Mohamed Salah's injury in the Champions League final previous year, it seems those on the Red half of Merseyside revelled in the fact that bruiser Diego Costa took no prisoners last night.

"There will be high expectations of us in Europe after getting to the Champions League final and we've got to shoulder that".

"It is never easy coming out of pre-season when you have players returning at different times due to the World Cup but you just want to get off to a good start and get a win". You can see the progression of the team since the manager has been here.

"We feel we can beat anyone on our day, we have proved that but it is about having that consistency and we will know how hard it is to win a league title and have that consistency and do it over 38 games". We are capable of beating anyone.

Costa got one over on Ramos after only 50 seconds, heading past his global team-mate before smashing the ball past Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

"I'm lucky to have played for as long as I have at some very big clubs and hopefully I can continue to give as much as I can to this football club both on and off the field".
