Liverpool gear up for Premier League opener against West Ham

Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho and RB Leipzig's Guinea worldwide Naby Keita to bolster their options in the middle of the park under Klopp.

"Make the best of it".

"The plan is that we really go for it (the Premier League)".

Klopp however pointed out that there could be further departures from Anfield, with the transfer window still open for major leagues in Spain, France, Italy and Germany.

Liverpool spent a reported £176million ($225million, 196million euros) bringing in, among others, Brazilians goalkeeper Alisson and midfielder Fabinho and Klopp hopes to deliver Liverpool's first league title in the Premier League era, with the last of their 18 champions crowns coming in 1990.

"We have to be in the championship mode", he said.

Klopp is yet to win any silverware at Liverpool despite reaching the finals of the 2016 League Cup and Europa League and last season's Champions League, believes Liverpool need some good fortune.

Klopp has great expectations Liverpool will deliver

"At the end I'm pretty sure we will have a fantastic football team on the pitch".

"Step by step, we come closer".

However, Klopp disagrees with that view as he pointed out that Manchester City, the defending champions, have strengthened significantly as well.

"We are the ones who have to do more and fight more - that must be our attitude". What about United? What about the other clubs?

"We want to be, it has been clear for ages, champion of England and winning the league but how can we say that?"

"We have to try to reach the highest, that is always my expectations". We have to improve everything.

"I know a lot of people because we were that active in the transfer window".
