Nintendo announces more fighters and a new mystery for ‘Smash Brothers Ultimate’

"Donkey Kong Country" villain King K. Rool is joining the "Super Smash Bros". Today, during a Super Smash Bros Direct, Nintendo announced several new characters for Ultimate, alongside the inclusion of 103 stages.

Apparently, these two coloured chairs are a sign Waluigi will be a playable character in the game, despite the fact he's already an Assist Trophy. Dracula's Castle is the new stage, which spawns items from candlesticks and features appearances from Castlevania bosses including Dracula, and 34 songs from the series.

Echo Fighters: Richter Belmont wasn't the only Echo Fighter revealed - we're also getting Chrom from the Fire Emblem series (an echo of Roy) and Dark Samus (I think you can guess who she's an echo of). Ultimate Limited Edition will contain a physical copy of the game, a Super Smash Bros. Then Nintendo cuts straight to the action, showing off Simon Belmont's cool moves in Smash Bros Ultimate as if it hadn't just murdered the dungaree-wearing coward.

Final Smash Meter: In addition to regular Final Smashes that can be activated after breaking a Smash Ball, the Final Smash Meter is now a selectable option.

Pep Guardiola reveals the one signing he wants before the deadline
Sarri, the new managerial import from Napoli, will be aware of the scale of the operation he has assumed control over. The signing could very well be a midfielder who can complement Sarri's style.

A recent press demo, covered by Japanese video game magazine Famitsu and translated by gaming website Source Gaming, revealed that not every stage from the Super Smash Bros. history will make it to Ultimate, unlike the characters. This announcement follows the Super Smash Bros. A Squad Strike mode will allow players to do battle in 5 vs 5 or 3 vs 3 formats, and as always all game play options can be enjoyed on-the-go.

Tourney Mode: Up to 32 players can participate in Tourney mode, making it great for parties or events with a lot of people. Some took this to mean that Luigi had been officially killed off. This elimination-style mode will create a dwindling roster of characters, and will encourage players to have to try out characters that may not quite be their mains to succeed against their adversary. Training mode is even improved, featuring an exclusive stage that features a grid that helps determine the distance and trajectory of abilities and fighter knockback.
