John Kasich: GOP Candidate Said He Didn't Invite Trump To Ohio Rally

"Trump's visit in the closing days of the campaign is a clear attempt by Republicans to rally base voters to Balderson, hoping that the president can charge turnout in the Republican-leaning district".

Trump touted Balderson's record on crime and immigration and claimed that O'Connor, if he won, would be a "puppet" of Nancy Pelosi, who stands to reclaim the title of speaker of the House if Democrats seize control of the body this fall.

"So we're blowing them away, and that's good because those are the people that love us", he added.

Trump's rally was the third he's held this week ahead of the November midterm elections, following events in Florida and Pennsylvania.

President Trump is arguing that Republicans can keep control of Congress by casting the midterms as a referendum on himself.

He predicted talk of a Democratic takeover is overblown.

"Why would there be a blue wave?"

President Donald Trump made no mention of LeBron during a rally in OH over the weekend, but it's safe to say that he's big mad. Jordan responded to that, praising James for helping his community.

"I think Donald Trump decides where he wants to go", Kasich said of the president's appearance, where after introducing Balderson and praising him, he then focused of his own agenda and his litany of complaints about the media.

President Donald Trump, right, encourages Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, left, to speak during a rally, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in Lewis Center, Ohio.

While the OH governor is claiming that Trump has managed to alienate a decent portion of the Republican party's base, he continues to insist that Balderson will still wind up winning the election due to O'Connor's "weak" campaign. The seat opened up when Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi resigned in January to lead the Ohio Business Roundtable.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Friday, upheld an earlier ruling requiring the Trump administration to continue an Obama-era program that shielded certain young immigrants from deportation. The 12th district has a higher percentage of people 25 and older with college degrees than any other district in the state, and Trump's popularity there has waned.

Hours before the president touched down in OH he took to Twitter to attack former Cavaliers superstar LeBron James. Democrats hold the advantage in early voting.

"Oh excuse me, I nearly forgot I would have been in big trouble, the great Lou Dobbs", Trump added.
