José Mourinho expects only one more new arrival at United

The Manchester United manager has had a significant number of players unavailable due to post-World Cup breaks and injuries.

Nemanja Matic is also sidelined for the foreseeable future after undergoing abdominal surgery.

"I agree that when the season starts the transfer window closes", said Mourinho.

Mourinho pulled no punches after his side's 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool in MI on Saturday, saying he had got "nothing" from the game - a theme that has run throughout the crisis-hit tour of the States.

Charlie Stillitano is executive chairman of the International Champions Cup's organisers Relevent Sports (Brian Lawless/PA).

Romelu Lukaku is among the United players now unavailable to Mourinho (Aaron Chown/PA).

"I watched Chelsea against Inter earlier and people had decided the beach was better".

"They didn't go to the game, the stadium was empty". For example, we played against Liverpool and they had maybe 80 percent of their squad ready, Milan maybe 90 percent of their squad. So this is not our squad.

He added at his press conference: "I wouldn't spend my money to see these teams".

But on lap 42, Hamilton's tyres were in tatters, and he had to come in. "He showed it again on Sunday by taking home the win". His mishap opened the door wide open for Hamilton , who is 17 points clear of Vettel after trailing by eight beforehand.

"I told you guys the other day in the media that I don't think we have worse players than any other team in the league, that's first of all. But get over it, man, and do what you do best - win matches". But we can't do it.

"He's come in even after the Liverpool game and spoken very highly of what we've have given as a team and as a unit".

The Daily Mail reported in May of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Everton in Luke Shaw, but the Manchester United defender's recent comments to The Times suggest that he does not plan to leave in the summer transfer window.

After finishing second - but 19 points behind the champions - in the Premier League, there is pressure on United to challenge Manchester City this season.

However, Mourinho has been heavily criticized by a lot of pundits and even the United faithful for the negative and defensive tactics that he prioritizes in most of his games.

"I am confident I get one, but I think two I am not going to get which is not a drama".

"I'm not a big fan of one player starting the season with one club and then a couple of weeks later the window is open, he moves to another club and he plays against his former club - I really don't like that".

"If it's possible it's possible, if not, it's not".
