The 16-year-old said that Meghan in particular was excited to meet him, and that she ran over to hug him when they met backstage in Zoe Ball's dressing room.

"Meghan could have won Samantha over with just a few kind words and Samantha would have praised Meghan for all her days", he said.

"If I send a birthday card to Kensington Palace, or wherever she's living now, it'll just be one among thousands".

Markle then turned on his girl, claiming "she'd be nothing" without him. Because apparently he's now an expert in what Princess Diana would think about things?

"Those numbers were disconnected, they no longer work".

"Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died", he said.

He worries the rift between his daughter may never heal, but "I won't be silenced".

Thomas also expressed concern that he wouldn't be able to meet any future grandchildren should Meghan and Harry have a child. I can see the strain Meghan's under, it's in her face.

He said: "They [the Royal Family] have Meghan treating her father in a way that Harry's mother, Princess Diana, would have loathed. That's not what Diana stood for". I know her smile. "It was great that I got to play with Harry because we normally play against each other".

The two have been all smiles at events lately, even as Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, and half-sister, Samantha Grant, continue to speak out against the actress.
