Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho Bemoans Lack Of Transfer Activity

"I don't know", said Mourinho when asked when Matic would return. I think that it is possible I will have one.

Mourinho, speaking after United were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool in MI on Saturday, complained that he could not name a stronger side with a host of stars on extended leave following the World Cup.

On Saturday, United were torn apart by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the Red Devils' penultimate game before facing Real Madrid in Miami on Tuesday.

"Martial could leave Man United this season if he isn't playing regular first-team football", he told bwin.

Manchester United is not the only club where the Portuguese coach has failed to build relationships with his players.

"It was wonderful to play with this great team, you can see this team has wonderful players, I feel good and I'm very happy".

Although worldwide players such as Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and David de Gea will be available for their first game against Leicester on August 10 at Old Trafford, they will not have played a game for three weeks and may well not have trained properly, either.

Real Madrid 'end Hazard interest' after Chelsea demand world-record fee
Hazard though has two years left on his current deal with Chelsea but has stalled contract extension talks worth £300,000 a week. It was well known that the goalkeeper was in their sights as there has always been a question mark against Keylor Navas.

Mourinho was extremely downbeat in a press conference during Manchester United's pre-season tour of the U.S. over the weekend.

Jose Mourinho's charges have endured a woeful pre-season in the States.

"I would like to have two more players, I think I am not going to get two". The Italian has failed to establish himself as a first choice player since his move way back in 2015. "If it's possible, it's good, if not then we keep fighting and working and believing in the players that we have". They deserve the best teams and invest to bring the best clubs to the US.

"Matic came from the World Cup with an injury and the time he had to rest on holiday was not enough to resolve the problem", he said (via BBC Sport).

Throughout the summer tour, Mourinho's press conferences have been incredibly negative and there can't be many pundits backing them to beat Man City to the title.

Fosu-Mensah spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace but the 20-year-old wants to stay in Manchester and hopes his versatility impresses Mourinho.

"I'm waiting to see what happens".
