LeBron James: Joining the Lakers a 'Dream Come True'

In a preview clip for the show that was released Thursday, James talks about watching LeBron James Jr. play ball. The I Promise School opened in Akron on Monday, with the first students walking through the doors for the start of the public elementary school's inaugural school year.

The school hopes to expand year by year, going to second and fifth grades next year until it is grades 1-8 by 2022, according to reports.

The school, opening in a joint effort between the LeBron James Family Foundation and Akron Public Schools, will educate at-risk youth in Akron.

Demi Lovato 'could have died' from suspected overdose
As previously reported, Lovato is conscious and in stable condition, though she remains hospitalized. The singer has since been released and is recovering well with her family.

"All due respect to the Lakers, who handled everything well", Lakers legend Jerry West told Sports Illustrated, "but, as these things go, LeBron was not a tough free-agent signing". Anyone who buys one of the shoes will have their name enshrined on the I Promise School sneaker wall as well. James' life was turned around between fourth and fifth grade, when he had ideal attendance, thanks to the intervention of Frank and Pam Walker. In 1993, the Walker family took James in and encouraged him to focus on his education at a city school in Akron. I've walked the same streets, I've rode the same bikes on the streets that they ride on. "Then it went from just sitting there on the bench to me getting in an argument". In a preview for his upcoming HBO show The Shop, James spoke about how much he gets into his kids' games and even admitted to arguing with other parents. I rode the same bikes on the streets that they ride on.

Therefore, his idolization of Magic clearly played a role in his decision, as did his appreciation for the rich championship-winning history of the franchise.
