Former MTV VJ Jesse Camp reported missing, last seen in Fontana

A former MTV VJ who was last seen in the Inland Empire has been reported as a missing person, the Riverside Police Department said on Monday.

The Riverside PD said that Mr. Camp was reported missing by his sister on July 19 and that his last known contact with his family was a phone call to his mother about a week earlier.

Marisha told authorities that her brother, whose real name is Josiah, was depressed, but not suicidal.

Just hours before he was reported missing, local police say they saw Jesse and did a "pedestrian check" in an area that is reportedly a common spot for "transients and homeless people".

Waters said Ocean City has wider beaches than Rehoboth, adding, "We don't have a density issue they were running into". The pole of the umbrella had to be cut in half by a fire crew in order to be removed, local media report.

The former TRL host got his big break when he won MTV's "Wanna Be a VJ" contest in 1998.

Police were not releasing further details on the case Tuesday. Since then, he's had a few minor run-ins with law enforcement, according to CBS. "(He does not need to be the subject of tabloid journalism, making everything worse)", Camp's sister writes on her Instagram story. Friends and family have been in communication on social media sharing various unconfirmed reports of his possible location and reason for being incommunicado, but no contact has yet been confirmed since he was reported missing.

Camp, 38, first rose to fame in 1998 when he became an MTV VJ after winning the network's first "Wanna Be a VJ" contest, Page Six reports.

"Family members who he routinely keeps in contact with had not heard from him for about a week".
