Ronaldo: 'I wanted to join another big club'

Ronaldo: 'I wanted to join another big club'

"It was a surprise but he will help Italian football and improve his image".

According to the report by BBC, the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) union feels that spending huge some money on Ronaldo means Fiat is missing out on investment.

"The relationship between the two clubs is extraordinary, so that, if at some point Real Madrid were considering signing a PSG player, the first thing it would do would be to go to his club".

The 33-year-old Portugal skipper was unveiled as the Italian club's £99.2m signing after completing a medical earlier today.

Ronaldo, who joined Juventus this month for around $117 million, has been mired by a legal battle in Spain after it was alleged that he failed to pay over $17 million in taxes between 2011 and 2014.

The superstar, in an open letter to Real Madrid fans, said, "I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club and for this city". It's a big step forwards for me and I want to prove myself on the field, win major trophies and take Juventus even higher.

"After the experiences in Manchester and in Madrid, I'd like to make my mark on the history of Juventus". I hope I can give the best response on the field during matches, that's what I can do.

Ozil's mental toughness has often been questioned in England after inconsistent performances for Arsenal as well. "I want to work with him".

"I know that competition will be harsh but we must be very calm and concentrate".

He leaves as Los Blancos' all-time top scorer and a four-time Champions League victor with the team he joined in 2009.

"Serie A is a tough, very tactical championship". It's a challenge, and I'm very prepared.

"[He's probably thinking] I achieved everything I could with Real Madrid and now it's time to do something different to keep motivated". I will try to do my best like always. I'm looking forward to playing.

"He'll bring a lot to Juventus with this hunger he has for winning", he said.

Just imagine if the next time they face up to each other is in the European final - there might just be some rivalry then.

Ronaldo spent nine seasons at the Bernabeu, where he scored 311 goals in 292 league appearances for Los Blancos.
