Bucks, Jabari Parker reach agreement for team to rescind qualifying offer

Since he is a restricted free agent, the Bucks would have the right to match any offer sheet that Parker is signed to by another team.

The Parker deal comes amid a dust-storm of National Basketball Association singing news, from the new Lakers with Rajon Rondo, LeBron James and Lance Stephenson (who can hopefully refrain from blowing on Bron's cheek), to Kawhi Leonard possibly going to the Raptors (!), to Paul George being content to stay in OKC and play second fiddle to the manic and stylish Russell Westbrook. If he performs well, they could pick up his option and let him play out the season without a long-term deal.

The 23-year old forward will join the Bulls young core of Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn, Bobby Portis, Zach LaVine and 2018 draft selection Wendell Carter Jr.

"Jabari and I felt it was in the best interest of both he and the team to rescind our qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent", Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement. Parker had his best season in 2016-17 - averaging 20 points, six rebounds and almost three assists in 50 games before suffering another knee injury.

Anderson outslugs Isner in epic match to reach Wimbledon final
Quotable: "I like the level of tennis that I'm playing on right now". "I feel pretty bad ", Isner said afterward. John Isner was leading Kevin Anderson 12-11 in the deciding set with the match having crossed the five-hour mark.

Jabari Parker is heading back home.

Jabari Parker is getting his wish.

Bartelstein praised the Bucks for "working side-by-side with us". The second year of the deal is a team option. The 2013 SLAM All-American is widely considered the be the most illustrious player in Chicago high school basketball history. "Also, the medical and performance staff led by Troy Flanagan and Suki Hobson deserve my unending thanks for their dedication in helping me get stronger and healthier every day".
