Trump Says Ireland Agrees with Him On Immigration

Trump Says Ireland Agrees with Him On Immigration

The dislike for Trump in the UK became most apparent during the 2016 presidential campaign, when, as a candidate, he proposed temporarily banning Muslims from entering the United States.

USA allies played down Trump's suggestion he was responsible for increased defense spending.

People wait to see the arrival of US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Winfield House in London on July 12, 2018.

Asked about Trump's comments at a hastily-arranged meeting with journalists, May said she was delivering wishes of the British people. He came directly from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit, where he had questioned the US's commitment to the security alliance.

"There is no stronger alliance than that of our special relationship with the U.S. and there will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", the British leader said.

Over a lunch of Dover sole, lamb and lemon meringue pie, the leaders will discuss Russian Federation, trade, Brexit and the Middle East.

Huge protests are planned in the UK's capital city during Trump's visit when he arrives with first lady Melania Trump on Thursday.

Mr Trump will meet the US Ambassador at Winfield House after arriving and then head to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

He has also said he might speak to Boris Johnson, who quit as foreign secretary over May's plans.

Outrage as Forbes calls Kylie Jenner a 'self-made' billionaire
KYLIE Jenner's latest magazine cover is turning heads and raising eyebrows - but this time it's not for what you'd expect. Kylie Jenner has become the youngest person on the fourth annual ranking of America's Richest Self-Made Women by Forbes .

Business leaders from sectors including finance, travel, food and defence were among the guests at dinner.

Only one person, the digital entrepreneur and philanthropist Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, has publicly refused the invitation.

Air Force One has landed at London Stansted Airport, where Trump is beginning a four-day visit to the country.

Friday night he will stay at the US Ambassador official residence in Regent's Park, London, which has been surrounded by a ring of steel of new security fences and road barriers to prevent a terror attack.

In a scene reminiscent of their White House meeting previous year, the United Kingdom and USA leaders held hands as they walked up steps to the palace to watch the bands of the Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards.

One person missing at the palace dinner, though, will be the queen, who will be hosting the president and first lady for tea at Windsor Castle on Friday afternoon. This part of the visit is being considered private.

Nick Hurd, Britain's Policing Minister, told parliament police expected more than 100 protests across the country, including two large demonstrations in London on Friday, and there were robust and proportionate plans in place.

It has also complained that 300 officers working during the visit will have to sleep on camp beds in a gymnasium that has no hot water and restricted access to hot food. Demonstrations are also expected outside both of his golf resorts. Organizers have been given permission to float a giant balloon depicting Mr. Trump as a baby and they've already declared victory by noting that the President is largely avoiding London during his visit.
