On Friday, the accountability court sentenced Sharif to 10 years in jail for owning assets beyond income and one year for not cooperating with the anti-corruption authority, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

All three family members, according to sources, have given their power of attorney to Khawaja Haris - Nawaz's counsel during the over-nine-month trial in the accountability court - who will file the appeals today.

Both sides were expected to discuss the timeline and ways in which remains of American soldiers would be returned at the meeting. However, officials say it could be months before excavations can begin and years until the remains are identified.

The NAB has already declared that Mr Sharif and Maryam will be arrested upon their arrival at any airport of the country. The former prime minister's son-in-law, Safdar has also been sentenced to a year in prison.

NAB officials have said they have obtained the necessary warrants in this regard and will arrest the duo when they land.

As some of them gained access to the apartment, one protester threw a shopping cart at Aijaz Gul, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) United Kingdom unit.

"Let me make it clear that the law enforcement agencies will arrest Nawaz and Maryam at the airport to implement the court's order", he said.

Khan also used the venue to criticize former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in absentia last week by an anti-graft tribunal over the purchase of luxury apartments in London. Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurenzeb said Sharif and Maryam will arrive in Lahore on Friday via Abu Dhabi on a foreign airline.
