Stormy Daniels has been arrested at a strip club

Another officer in the back of the club went to get backup before arresting Daniels, who was released on bond early Thursday.

Stormy Daniels was arrested at an OH strip club early Thursday after allegedly violating an "obscure" state law, per CNN-though her lawyer claims it was a set-up.

Avenatti wrote Daniels was arrested "whole [sic] performing the same act she has performed across the nation at almost a hundred strip clubs".

She was arrested for allegedly allowing patrons to touch her in violation of OH law.

"Are you kidding me?" he asked.

"It was an absurd use of law enforcement resources", Avenatti said. "There has to be higher priorities!"

OH law says a person who performs "nude or seminude on the premises of a sexually oriented business" are not allowed to be touched by patrons.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has said she had sex with President Donald Trump in 2006 when he was married, which Trump has denied. It reeks of desperation, ' he wrote. We will fight all bogus charges. He says she was arrested inside the club. Mr Trump denies all allegations.

The documents did not indicate if the officers were in plain clothes or in uniform at the time. Daniels was one of three people arrested at the club, but it's unclear who the other two were.

USA media tweeted a mugshot of Ms Daniels, purportedly from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in Columbus.

Clifford, had been scheduled to appear at Sirens Gentlemen's Club in northeastern Columbus on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the club's website. Reached by The Washington Post early Thursday, a representative for Sirens strip club refused to comment.

Avenatti says during Wednesday's performance, some patrons touched Daniels in a "non-sexual" way.

Mr Avenatti said she would plead not guilty to all counts.

Daniels, 39, filed a lawsuit against Trump and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, late past year, seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement that she says barred her from speaking about the alleged affair. The payment might have violated campaign finance laws.

Trump admitted in May that he reimbursed Cohen for the hush money.
