Trump was joining British Prime Minister Theresa May for a black-tie dinner Thursday at Blenheim Palace, Churchill's birthplace near Oxford, at the start of his trip to England.

Mrs May will be looking to improve her often publicly strained relationship with the USA president as she pushes for a post-Brexit trade deal with America.

"I am going to a few hot spots", he told journalists.

Trump was flying over after a fraught North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels where he piled pressure on allies to double their defence spending.

Widespread protests opposing President Trump's stay begin Thursday evening and continue through Friday night.

May's "business-friendly" Brexit proposal was agreed by her cabinet only last Friday after two years of wrangling since Britons voted to leave the bloc in a 2016 referendum, though some supporters of Brexit cast it as a betrayal. That led roughly 500,000 people to sign a petition calling for Trump to be banned from entering the Britain.

He went on to say: "There might be protests, but I believe that the people in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, I think those people, they like me a lot".

May was the first head of government to officially meet Trump as president, in January 2017.

The blimp's appearance in central London was approved by the Greater London Authority, and Mayor Sadiq Khan has defended the decision, saying it is not for him to be a censor or to decide what is in good or bad taste.

It was during that trip to Washington that she invited him to the UK.

'Croatia ready to take place among greats' says Dalic
I wish him the best, but not so much when he plays against Real Madrid . "Something had to change to get the results", Dalic said. The Croatian football team, who only formed in 1990, had only gone as far as the semi-finals in the World's biggest competition.

May is trying to unify her deeply divided Conservative Party behind her Brexit plans with some of her own lawmakers openly speaking of a leadership challenge.

"Melania has seen photos of the Trump baby blimp, and she doesn't find it amusing in the slightest, she thinks it's mortifying", a source close to the first lady tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.

They are expected to be in Scotland until Sunday.

"Boris Johnson's a friend of mine, he's been very nice to me, very supportive and maybe I'll speak to him when I get over there".

This is when huge protests will be held across the city, with 50,000 people expected to turn up on Friday afternoon - parading to Trafalgar Square through central London.

A giant inflatable "Trump baby" will not be allowed to fly over the United States president's Turnberry golf course when he visits over the weekend, Police Scotland have said.

Donald Trump began a protest-laden trip to Britain Thursday by questioning whether Prime Minister Theresa May will deliver on United Kingdom voters' intentions when they chose to quit the European Union.

Over a lunch of Dover sole, lamb and lemon meringue pie, the leaders will discuss Russian Federation, trade, Brexit and the Middle East.
