Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus links are laughable, says ex-director

A report claims that Manchester United could match the offer made by Juventus to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is an icon in Madrid and selling him would have serious implications, it would essentially require that the club make a blockbuster signing, likely Neymar. Last month Juve fan said goodbye with the departure of their legendary captain Gigi Buffon after winning the 7th staright Serie A championship and now reports say Real Madrid are ready to accept a €100m offer from Juventus for Ronaldo according to Spanish TV show "Jugones".

"For me they would be wrong to get Cristiano with a €30 million salary".

But former managing director Luciano Moggi has laughed off the rumours, saying his former side have other areas in need of addressing.

"Everyone should remember that I had a deal to buy him as a kid, Ronaldo, but [Marcelo] Salas said no, so it didn't happen". Ronaldo also had 85 goals in 154 global appearances with Portugal.

Days on from releasing an official statement to deny reports in Spain that they had tabled a bid for the Brazilian, it's now being reported Real have agreed a world-record fee for his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Kylian Mbappe.

In his nine-year stint, the Portuguese forward refined his game to become one of world football's most devastating goalscorers, netting 450 times in 438 appearances across all competitions while also recording 131 assists.
