Los Angeles Lakers signing PG Rajon Rondo

Los Angeles Lakers signing PG Rajon Rondo

Almost an hour and a half after it was announced that the Los Angeles Lakers renounced Julius Randle, the forward agreed to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. With the exception of James, Los Angeles is only bringing in players on one-year deals which allows them to be players in free agency in the summer of 2019.

The Los Angeles Lakers made one of the biggest moves in National Basketball Association history on Sunday by landing LeBron James in free agency.

Julius Randle has reportedly become an unrestricted free agent.

Deng's $36 million salary would then be paid out over five seasons.

He'll certainly earn the two-year contract extension he received in early June. Holiday's scoring average improved to 19 points per game last season, nearly five points better than in 2016-17.

Then, things took a darker turn when Layun appeared to step on Neymar following another altercation on the touchline. Minutes after the restart Brazil took the lead in exquisite fashion with Neymar starting and ending the move.

Randle averaged 16.8 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers last season. Rondo led the Pelicans to a first-round Western Conference playoffs sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers. Once the Lakers began signing Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee on Sunday night, Randle saw the writing on the wall in Los Angeles.

James has been consulted on all of the Lakers' recent moves, according to ESPN.

Despite losing Randle's defensive abilities, the Lakers have managed to upgrade their defense in the past 48 hours. Players and teams are free to negotiate and agree on new contracts, but they can't officially sign them until Friday morning PT. Rondo walks into a crowded backcourt, which includes Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball. Depth was a concern at the position. The results won't necessarily be pretty, but the team needs able bodies. The two did not play together at Kentucky, but both played their college ball under John Calipari.

The 32-year-old most recently played for the New Orleans Pelicans and has proven to been one of the best passing point guards of his generation.
