Draymond Green reportedly led the recruitment charge for DeMarcus Cousins

Draymond Green reportedly led the recruitment charge for DeMarcus Cousins

With the addition of Boogie, a top five player at his position, Golden State has no weaknesses in their starting lineup.

It was 5 a.m.

So here's the big question: How did the Warriors pull off this heist? In recent years, Cousins has worn the Scarlet L: He's the NBA's best player to never win anything.

Not only do they make the best team in the league even better, but they prevent LeBron's Lakers from getting any closer talent-wise (not that the Lakers helped themselves too much on Monday).

- As he has long desired, DeMarcus Cousins will finally get a chance to play for a victor once he's healthy from a torn left Achilles tendon.

Cousins joins a Warriors team coming off back-to-back titles that already has Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Cousins isn't expected to take the court until at least December, if not later as he recovers from a ton achilles.

FPJ's dream XI predictions for Spain vs Russian Federation
Cherchesov introduced Cheryshev for Alexander Samedov on the hour, a move greeted by a deafening roar from the home support. Suddenly, Russia are brimming with confidence and Spain look patchy at best.

DeMarcus Cousins is signing with the Golden State Warriors in a stunning free agency move. "If Cousins returns to form, the Warriors may have to adjust to Cousins' game, but they'll become even more dominant and versatile than they've been the past four seasons".

While the Lakers would surely like to pair Kawhi with James this season, they don't need to feel the pressure they once did to do so. Green is likely to speak to Cousins in a way that no teammate or coach has ever dared.

Sources say Cousins may not play in an actual game until around Christmas.

Cousins tore his Achilles back in January and it is still unclear when he will be ready to suit up. Maybe it's his defense, maybe it's his attitude, maybe it's his injury or maybe it's some combination of everything, but unless Cousins returns fully healthy, I see this as a bad move for the Warriors. There will be no rush to get him back on the court with the Warriors, who have won three of the last four National Basketball Association championships and already have four All-Stars on the roster.

With NBA free agency tipping off in just under 24 hours, rumors and speculation have been swirling around some of the biggest names in the league.

But Boogie to the Bay Area will soon be a reality.
