Spurs 'ready' to Move on from Kawhi Leonard

Furthermore, Vardon adds that James decision will not be affected by the future of Kawhi Leonard, whether he's traded to the Lakers, another team, or staying in San Antonio. Wojnarowski reported that the Spurs "have always been most intrigued" with the numerous "trade assets" possessed by the Celtics, while the 76ers, with their own impressive war chest, have been suggested by many as potentially strong suitors this summer for Leonard, James or both.

While reports have been circulating about Kawhi Leonard not wanting to step back into a Spurs locker room again, the organization still wished him a happy birthday.

So teams like Boston, Cleveland, Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Clippers are trying to figure out how much to offer San Antonio in a trade for Leonard without knowing what their chances of re-signing him are next offseason. James has until Friday at 11:59 ET to decline his player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers to become an unrestricted free agent. Most notably, the Silver and Black are enamored with the bevy of assets the Boston Celtics have at their disposal.

The Spurs' Kawhi Leonard, left, split a pair of NBA Finals showdowns with LeBron James when the latter was with the Heat.

Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi’s celebration blunder
When Adnan Januzaj scored a stunning goal to give Belgium the lead against England, he must have felt like nothing would trump it. Rashford had by a distance England's best chance 25 minutes from time, but again slotted wide with just Courtois to beat.

Regardless of who may or may not join James in free agency, OddsShark reported last week that the Lakers are heavily favored to sign him at 4-13, while the Cavs are second at 13-4.

The question now is whether the Lakers even have enough to convince the San Antonio Spurs to send Leonard there. So many free agents will be forced to sign for less than they anticipated. And while the Sixers have not made a formal offer to San Antonio at this time, Philadelphia has held serious internal discussions about acquiring Leonard over the last 48 hours.

But the Lakers have Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball (who'd probably have to be conveyed to a third team) to forma package.

The Lakers will be appealing, particularly if they're in win-now mode since players will be able to showcase their game on a big stage.
