LA Clippers trade Austin Rivers to Washington Wizards for Marcin Gortat

The Washington Wizards have traded center Marcin Gortat to the Los Angeles Clippers for point guard Austin Rivers, sources have confirmed to WTOP.

The Clippers and Wizards are exchanging two of their most controversial players. And considering Doc himself has a say in making these trades, it means he likely signed off traded his son to another team. The No. 10 pick in the 2012 draft, Rivers has career averages of 9.4 points on 41.9 percent shooting, 2.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds. Doc has since lost some of his power, and Jerry West and Lawrence Frank are now in control - and free to trade Austin Rivers.

Gortat, 34, played the past five seasons as Washington's steady big man, anchoring a lineup that featured a young backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna suspended through Aug. 4
It allows the league to discipline a player for a domestic violence incident regardless of whether there are charges or a trial. The suspension, which Osuna is not expected to appeal, is retroactive to May 8 and extends through August 4.

Though this trade is a bit of a head-scratcher that accomplishes little for either side, it's worth taking a look at what the Wizards and Clippers both get out of the deal.

Gortat, who's been around the league since 2007 and had been in Washington since 2013, is a 6-foot-11 center from Poland.
