Cavaliers' pick makes early LeBron James pitch

Moments after the team selected Collin Sexton with the No. 8 pick in the National Basketball Association draft on Thursday night, the Alabama playmaker made his appeal for LeBron James to re-sign with Cleveland.

"LeBron, let's do it", Sexton said in his post-draft interview. "I see you need a few pieces, that one extra piece this past season".

In his only season at Alabama, Sexton led the Crimson Tide back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2012. That drew some attention considering Sexton was likely to be there for Cleveland at No. 8 and could serve as a barometer for the lengths the team is willing to go to convince James to stay with his hometown team. One day after Cleveland's season-ending loss to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, the Cavs worked Sexton out at the team facility at Cleveland Clinic Courts.

Stats: England amass the highest ODI total of all time
Thanks to twin tons by Alex Hales (147) and Jonny Bairstow (139) England managed to score 481 in their stipulated 50 overs. England posted 481/6, the highest total in men's ODI cricket and the second-highest in List A cricket.

Whether Cavs general manager Koby Altman and owner Dan Gilbert opted to pick Sexton in an effort to persuade James to re-sign or because they truly saw him as the best prospect on the board is unclear.

The Cavs acquired the No. 8 pick from the Boston Celtics (by way of the Brooklyn Nets) as a part of last summer's Kyrie Irving trade.

While Sexton certainly improves the Cavs' backcourt, there is no guarantee it will do anything to impact what James may do.
