Former Donald Trump Campaign Guru Paul Manafort Headed To Hoosegow

Donald Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort has had his bail revoked by a Washington DC judge and has been ordered to jail pending trial.

The 69-year-old Paul Manafort was reportedly engaging in attempted witness tampering while under house arrest awaiting his trial.

At the hearing, prosecutor Greg Andres said that Manafort can't be trusted to avoid contacting witnesses given that the indictment accuses him of lying to his lawyer and accountants, as well as the IRS and Justice Department. Manafort has also pleaded not guilty to those charges. He was first indicted last fall and has remained on home confinement. Gates has since pleaded guilty to lesser charges in a deal with prosecutors.

Manafort will now have to prepare for two federal trials, one in Washington on September 17 and the other in Virginia on July 25, while locked up in a jail cell.

U.S. authorities immediately took Manafort into custody and escorted him out of a packed courtroom, where his wife looked on during the hearing.

President Trump tweeted sympathy for Manafort after the ruling, but only hours before, virtually disavowed him, saying "Paul Manafort worked for me for a short period of time".

US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in Washington D.C. cancelled Manafort's bail which had allowed him to live in his Alexandria, Virginia, apartment under house arrest, as CNN reported.

Hierro stated that he does not doubt de Gea's abilities and they take the ups-and-downs as a team. The only Madrid player to start for Portugal was, of course, the captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jackson said she was "very troubled" by Manafort's contacts with witnesses.

Trump said it was unfair to send Manafort to jail.

While speaking to reporters earlier on Friday, Trump tried to distance himself from Manafort while making it clear that he believes the charges are unfair.

In addition to the previous charges against Manafort - which include conspiracy, money laundering and tax and bank fraud related to his work for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine - Manafort and a business associate, Konstantin Kilimnik, stand accused of trying to sway the testimony of two witnesses.

Manafort's business partner Rick Gates, who was also charged with a slew of federal crimes earlier this year, had entered a plea deal with the Special Counsel and is working with prosecutors on the Russian Federation investigation.

In response, prosecutors filed additional documents showing extensive lobbying contacts by the group in the USA, which they said showed "the falsity of his representation". Mueller's team filed evidence that Manafort tried to coordinate the testimony of two former business colleagues who allegedly helped him to illegally lobby in the United States for Yanukovych. He knows that he is going to face the rest of his life in jail. "I don't think I can draft an order to prevent the defendant from committing any future crimes", Jackson said.

This week, prosecutors submitted as evidence a four-page memo that Manafort wrote to Yanukovych detailing his campaign.
