Trooping The Colour: The Queen at 92 watches as guardsmen march

Every year, the United Kingdom honors Queen Elizabeth's birthday with the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony which is one of the most spectacular royal events of the year.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a dress by Carolina Herrera and a hat by Philip Treacy, while the Duchess of Cambridge wore a dress by Alexander McQueen and a hat by Juliette Botterill. He will celebrate his 97th birthday Sunday.

Bringing Prince Harry's new bride along with her is a "is a really positive sign of favour, encouragement and endorsement by the Queen", Robert Lacey, historical consultant for Netflix's "The Crown", tells People.

The Queen, who has refused to retire despite her advancing years, has upped her workload even further this year, doing 25 per cent more engagements and appearances than for the same period last year, according to royal observers Write Royalty.

After the parade, the royal family joined the monarch on the Buckingham Palace balcony to wave to the crowds of thousands and watch the flypast by Royal Air Force aircraft, including by the famous Red Arrows display team, CNN reported. She was also spotted covering his mouth with her hands. This year was no different, although there's no denying all eyes were on Meghan.

He said: "I'm quite proud and I know that a lot of other people are proud of me as well".

Meghan's remarkable confidence at the event reminds us of when Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's made her Trooping of the Colour debut less than two months after her April 2011 nuptials to Prince William.

Trooping the Colour and the day in Cheshire represent the beginning of the busy royal summer season.

The Queen's great-granddaughter then turned to younger cousin, Prince George, to school him in the art of royal etiquette.
