Nyantakyi handed provisional Federation Internationale de Football Association ban

A statement from the Ministry of Information said that the government is "shocked and outraged" by the contents of the investigations undertaken by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

The scandal has led to the resignation of indicted GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, who has also copped a provisional 90-day ban from all football activities by world football governing body Fifa.

It added that "I hereby apologise unreservedly to the father of the nation, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, H.E. the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. ministers and deputy ministers of state for indiscretion in associating them with the private conversations on the video". I take sole and personal responsibility for the proceedings on the video.

The revelations, filmed over two years by an investigative journalist and first revealed on Wednesday, have sent shockwaves through Ghana, where football is the national sport.

Stanley Cup Finals 2018: Capitals vs
The Capitals soared to victory on the strength of two third-period goals after they went down 3-2 on Smith's goal in the second. Washington challenged for goalie interference, but the call on the ice stood before Smith gave the home side a 3-2 lead.

"Having regard to the widespread nature of the apparent rot involving top GFA officials, NSA [National Sports Authority] officials, match commissioners, football administrators and referees, government has made a decision to take immediate steps to have the GFA dissolved", he said.

Nyantakyi, a CAF vice president and member of the FIFA Council, told undercover reporters pretending to be wealthy businessmen interested in sponsoring the Ghana Premier League that he could set up a separate company to act as the agent in the supposed deal and charge between 20-25 percent from the GFA.

Abdul-Hamid said interim measures would soon be announced.

Federation Internationale de Football Association has not yet commented on whether any action will be taken over the government's plan to dissolve the GFA.

Nyanyakyi's resignation means the Ghana Football Association are now without a president and a vice president after George Afriyie was sacked from his post a month ago. They will also drop out of the U20 World Cup.
