Bumblebee Trailer Takes Transformers Into a New Era

His dialogue plays in the background as we see Charlie Wilson meet Bumblebee at a junkyard in one of the Californian beach towns.

The trailer leads with Charlie (Steinfeld) finding a yellow VW Beetle in a junkyard as a familiar quote echoes, reminding us that the driver doesn't pick the vehicle; the auto picks the driver. (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jason Drucker (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul), Kenneth Choi (American Crime Story), Ricardo Hoyos (Degrassi: Next Class), Abby Quinn (Landline), Rachel Crow (Deidra & Laney Rob a Train), Grace Dzienny (Zoo) and John Ortiz (Kong: Skull Island).

Whether audiences still have an appetite for such computer-generated-imaging mayhem won't be known until later this year, as Bumblebee arrives in theaters on December 21.

This film will probably be a typical Transformers movie and if you're a fan of that style then this will probably make you very happy.

The multi-billion dollar Transformers franchise is finally getting its own spin-off. The trailer teases the film's different tone compared to the ones directed by Michael Bay.

He added: "It was awesome to be involved with that franchise, and a pleasure to be asked to be part of the movie, but I took the part because it was a challenge for me".
