Apple stopped the update lock Telegram

Recently Pavel Durov has updated its account on the social network, where he thanked the Apple CEO and the company itself because it provided the opportunity to update the application Telegram to the latest version. Many features of Telegram do not work correctly now, including stickers. In total, Russian Federation accounts for about 7 percent of the user base for Telegram.

As of today, Apple finally approved the updated version of the said app. Pavel Durov, Telegram's CEO, announced the good news through his Twitter account.

Apple is restricting the app from updating to everyone around the world. It means that the lack of updates are putting the app at a higher vulnerability level. Truth be told, Russian Federation obviously sent a letter to Apple only a couple of days back requesting that the organization expel Telegram from its offerings within the month, or face legitimate consequences.

The app needed to comply with the new privacy rules set by the European Union in order to operate within the territory.

Along with Amazon and Google Cloud platforms, the Russian government requested Apple also to pull "Telegram" off their respective app stores to which the Cupertino, California-headquarted did not succumb, The Verge reported. In addition, the company will allow brands to place contextual search ads Search Ads not just in the store, but on the search pages within the programs themselves.

Obviously, since this app is a secured messaging app where privacy is a huge concern, the company never responded back to the request.
