Apple introduces iOS 12

Apple has invited developers to its highly anticipated WWDC 2018 event.

Less likely but not utterly impossible is the announcement of new Mac computers. In iOS 12, up to 32 people will be able to join the same FaceTime conversation and users can converse with one another using personalized avatars called "Memojis" using iPhone X's facial recognition technology. The developer conference will start on 5 June at 1AM in Malaysia, and naturally, the event will be livestreamed. Apparently, you can now search by nearly anything - even broad terms like museum, office, bar. At the event, Apple is expected to announce the next version of its iOS as the iOS 12. Federighi says Apple has doubled down on performance with iOS 12 update, which will be available for iPhone 5s and above, iPad Air and above, iPad mini 2 and above, and iPod touch 6th generation. 81 percent of iOS users are now running iOS 11.

The alleged tighter focus on stability and bug fixes means that Apple is saving its bigger iPhone and iPad changes for later, including a redesigned home screen in iOS 12, an overhaul to Siri, Apple's voice assistant, or a heap of photography enhancements, according to Bloomberg.

"You can make decisions about how much time you'd like to spend with your device each day", Apple's Craig Frederici told developers.

Amazon to restrict Australian customers to local site in July
Thankfully Aussies unimpressed by the local service have been able to shop on the USA site. However, that privilege is being yanked away on July 1.

It is assumed that "Digital health" will analyze data on the use of applications and will allow you to set restrictions. After recent criticism by Apple shareholders that the company was encouraging the negative effect of tech addiction on teens, this seems like a logical reaction. In a way, it could be similar to the features that Google recently announced for Android P, which too aims to help users reduce their usage of smartphone. In March, Siri cofounder Norman Winarsky said he's surprised by how much Siri is still unable to do, and that the assistant was stifled by a lack of reliability and Apple's own ambitions and poor execution. ARKit 2.0 adds new features such as multiplayer AR environments, and a mode where virtual objects "remain in place", suggesting a persistent play environment. Apple CEO Tim Cook will begin the Keynote at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. Apple traditionally releases it new phone models in September, but the first iPhone SE was launched in March 2016, though at a separate event. This is the function that lets users send money via iMessage to other contacts.

There is also the rather flimsy rumour that the iPhone SE2, an update to Apple's budget phone, could be announced.

It is important to note, though, that Apple is unlikely to make major announcements about the MacBook Pro lineup, at least based on the manner of its laptop releases in the past couple of years. Here's what we might see.
