Chelsea Board Makes A Shocking Announcement Leaving Fans Stunned

Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to express concern at a perceived club crisis. but many rival supporters appear to be loving it.

Chelsea are facing uncertain times, following a couple of years in which transfer spend has been reduced and the influence of Abramovich has receded.

Abramovich received Israeli citizenship this week and is set to move to Tel Aviv.

In a statement released today, The Blues said: 'Chelsea Football Club announces today that it has put its new stadium project on hold.

Chelsea's decision suggests they have been unable to secure the funding they were seeking, and say there is now no "time frame set for reconsideration of its decision".

A club statement read: "The club has put its new stadium project on hold".

However, no decision is expected to be made over the new arrival until director Marina Granovskaia returns from a holiday next week.

The Israeli diplomat stressed that Abramovich will receive a warm welcome, adding that he hopes the Russian will "invest at least part of his riches in our economy".

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has shelved the club's £1billion new stadium plans.

Chelsea have been linked with Maurizio Sarri, Luis Enrique and Carlo Ancelotti in recent weeks.

Abramovich does not hold an employment position in Chelsea FC and visits the United Kingdom only for short periods of time.

Mr Abramovich has declined to comment on the claims.
